I try to leave the world a little bit better than it was when I got here. I've been through a lot of stuff. I lost my son a few years back. I lost my mom last year. Right now, I'm at a point where I just want to give back as much as I can...
To get actual food that's been cooked and people actually take their time and care enough to bring it to you, that means a lot to a lot of people.

Jermaine
UGK Community First Lead Chef

Richmond native Jermaine is proud to give back to the community. After working in the restaurant industry for almost 30 years, Jermaine picked up the nickname "refurbish chef" for his skill at taking leftovers or random ingredients and turning them into a delicious dish. Jermaine also is a songwriter, growing up in a gospel-division, the first to record an album in Richmond!

After working with UGK for over two years, Jermaine has a great feel for what makes things at UGK Community First work. He began his journey with us during the pandemic, responding to our call for line cooks. Now, he leads the CF kitchen with the guidance and support of culinary director Steve Glenn.

Jermaine taps into his culinary inspirations to blend flavors, elevate traditional dishes, and deliver delicious and nutritious meals to daycares throughout Richmond. He's genuinely thrilled to be part of the community and contribute by giving back.
